Orinda

Nestled in the hills, Orinda is a quiet community with easy access to downtown San Francisco via BART or car. Orinda Union School District is one of the highest performing districts in California. All of Orinda schools are California Distinguished Schools. There is high parent involvement and a variety of extracurricular activities offered. Orinda is less than 20 miles to Oakland Airport and less than 30 miles to San Francisco International airport. Easy freeway access enables commuting to Silicon Valley possible as well.

Sleepy Hollow
Sleepy Hollow, Orinda Downs, and Orinda Country Club are all wonderful neighborhoods to raise a family.

There is a strong sense of community in the tree-filled neighborhood of Sleepy Hollow. Sleepy Hollow Elementary school is safely tucked away at the end of a street. The Sleepy Hollow Swim and Tennis club just underwent a $3 million renovation, including two new swimming pools and tennis court renovations.

Orinda Downs is known for wide streets and flat lots. Dalewood Park is a wonderful gathering place for neighbors. There are swings, a play structure, a grassy field and a basketball court at this private park.

The Orinda Country Club area features beautiful estates, Lake Cascade and the Orinda Country Club (OCC). There is a 1.1-mile trail around the lake, primarily used for walking and is accessible year-round. OCC was established in 1924 and is the proud home of an award-winning swim team, tennis and fitness facilities and Orinda’s only golf course.

Del Rey
Del Rey Elementary school is in beautiful setting situated between 2 creeks, mature oak trees, and a natural habitats garden. This neighborhood has a strong sense of community and features flat lots, well-maintained gardens and is situated between downtown Orinda and Moraga.

Glorietta
The Glorietta area of Orinda is perfectly situated between Lafayette, Orinda, and Moraga. Many homes here offer stunning views the surrounding hills and from some, you can even see the Lafayette Reservoir. Children can take the charming walking path that leads to the elementary school as well as to Meadow Swim and Tennis Club.

Wagner Ranch
From the Wagner Ranch side of Orinda, you can easily access the San Pablo reservoir where you can boat, fish and hike. Tilden Regional Park is just over the hill and offers amazing views of the bay, hiking, botanical gardens and steam trains for children to ride.

The Wagner Ranch Nature area is a wonderful resource for all Orinda schools. This nature preserve and historic site offer hands-on education for approximately 1,000 school children annually. Children learn about the environment and California history in a variety of programs designed to teach through experience.

Orinda Park Pool is nestled in the hills and includes many families that have been members for 50 years or more. Orinda Park Pool began as Lake Orinda in 1921 and is home to the OPP Stingrays, one of Orinda’s top swim teams.

Wilder
